Zum Internationalen Tag der Menschenrechte lädt die DEZA zu einer Podiumsdiskussion am Dienstag 9. Dezember ein, bei der auch Sofia Monsalve von FIAN International teilnimmt: «Access to Land, Human Rights, and Development» (Flyer).
The evening will highlight the increasing pressure on land as a key resource and its implications for development. Panelists will discuss the nexus between development and human rights and present examples of addressing land reform challenges.
The Opening Note will be delivered by Manuel Sager, Director-General of SDC (DEZA). Christophe Golay from the Geneva Academy on international humanitarian law and human rights will moderate the discussion.
Panelists are: Margret Vidar, Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), Sofia Monsalve Suarez, FIAN International, Ben Blumenthal, Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation, and Franziska Freiburghaus, SDC.
The presentations and discussion will be in English.
